DōMatcha Captures New U.S. Market

Vancouver distributor expands tea sales into American Southwest

VANCOUVER, Canada (June 12, 2008) — Vancouver based EcoTrend Ecologics Ltd. (EcoTrend) today announced a landmark expansion of its DōMatcha Japanese Green Tea distribution with popular U.S. natural foods retailer Whole Foods Market (Nasdaq: WFMI).

"We're very pleased to see Whole Foods extend our DōMatcha brand into its Southwest retail region," said John Harrison, EcoTrend founder and CEO. "It's a terrific indication of DōMatcha's growing popularity with North American tea drinkers."

With its introduction to Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, DōMatcha is now available at well over 100 Whole Foods Market outlets in seventeen (17) U.S. states and two Canadian provinces (Ontario and B.C.). An additional twenty-three (23) stores are planned for Texas and California.

"No other premium matcha has that kind of retail leverage," said Harrison. "DōMatcha is quickly becoming the number one choice for matcha." Originally conceived by 13th century Zen monks in Japan, matcha tea is highly regarded for its distinctive energizing and calming effects and multiple health benefits.

“I can say with confidence that DōMatcha has the best flavor and consistency of any matcha I've tried," said Whole Foods' former regional tea buyer in Northern California, Dave Chavez. "Our sales exploded when we started sampling out cold matcha smoothies (last) summer." EcoTrend Ecologics Ltd. is a Canadian distributor of premium quality, natural health care products serving retail clients and alternative health care practitioners in Canada and the U.S.
